The Château de Saché, Museum Balzac is a stately stone building located in Touraine, rising up from a landscape of meadows and forests. It is famous due to Honoré de Balzac, its most illustrious resident, who frequently stayed there. It was in this “ruin of a castle on the Indre River”, as the author of the Human Comedy liked to call it, that he wrote some of his most famous novels. In the village of Saché, there is also a church and, above all, an old inn from the 12th century.

The castle is about 30 minutes by car from the city of Chinon, not far from the Château d’Azay-le-Rideau.
